The viewer is left in total suspension between misunderstanding and understanding. The basis of Welch’s work revolves around this in-between state of confusion often making the pieces look and feel dysfunctional to the audience. For this exhibition she will deal with the relationship between separate identities and our silent gap for thinking, order and understanding, so she is essentially commenting on the essence of communication. |
Der Betrachter von Welchs Arbeiten ist gefangen zwischen Unverständnis und Verstehen. Dieser Zustand der Verwirrung ist die Ausgangsbasis ihrer Video- und Fotoarbeiten, die mit ihrer Unfunktionalität spielen. Für diese Ausstellung wird sie die Beziehungen verschiedener Identitäten genauer betrachten. Es geht ihr hierbei um die stillen Momente in einer Kommunikation, die reserviert sind für das Denken, die Ordnung und das Verstehen. |
