A central theme in Wrege’s work is the struggle of interrelations between suggested reality and romantic imagination. Exploring the dialectic value of irony Christina’s work resembles the concept of thesis and antithesis, hovering within the in-between state of flux. Using various print media and video, she is depicting either notoriously romantic, dream-like scenarios or moments when the self of the (day)-dreamer clashes with aspects of reality, i.e. existing spaces or objects of the daily life.

Ein zentrales Thema in Wreges Arbeiten ist der Konflikt zwischen einer definierten Realität und romantischer Vorstellungskraft. Sie erforscht den dialektischen Wert von Ironie, das Konzept von These und Antithese und kreiert so einen Zustand des Dazwischen-Seins. Wrege stellt mit druckgrafischen und filmischen Mitteln entweder rein romantische oder traumähnliche Szenarien dar, oder Momente in denen das romantische Ich mit Aspekten der Realität kollidiert.
